I am crafting my life. A life of Heart-Centered Living. A life infused with mindfulness and the Life Force of Conscious Breathing. In this moment I'm remembering to breathe fully into my belly. As I exhale completely, getting any stale air out of my respiratory system, I release everything I no longer need.
Calligraphy can be about precision: an exactness in the shaping of a letter, the pressure of pen on paper, knowing when to press down and when and how to swiftly, yet gracefully lighten up. Such a balance --- just like life.
I've been playing with letterforms and ink flowing out of nibs most of my life. Yet, I recognize as a calligrapher I'm still a beginner. The period of my life I'm in right now and what I'm choosing to focus on, I'm going to be staying a beginner for a while yet.
According to the Nonviolent Communication model developed by Marshall Rosenberg, "Celebration" is a Universal Need. Today I'm Celebrating. Yet not in the common fanfare style with confetti and helium baloons, cake and ice cream. No, today I'm on the other side of Celebration: mourning, celebrating loss, grieving.
